Anoka County Child Support

A monthly child support obligation may include payments for the following three categories of support: (1) basic child support; (2) contribution to a minor child’s monthly child care expenses; and (3) contribution to a minor child’s monthly cost of health and dental insurance coverage. Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 518A.26, subd. 4, basic child support includes the dollar amount ordered for a child’s housing, food, clothing, transportation, and education costs, and other expenses relating to the child’s care. Child support is based on an income shares model, meaning that both parents’ incomes are considered when determining a person’s child support obligation.
